Using this website

HandyTackle provides furniture assembly and disassembly, plus packing household belongings before a house move and unpacking them in your new home. We are based in Maghull. Contact info@handytackle.co.uk about a request, booking or these terms.

Requesting and confirming work

The Handy Engine shows a price for the services, quantities and details you enter. Sending a booking request saves those details for us to review and sends an internal email notification. It does not reserve a date or confirm a job. We check availability and agree the scope, price, date and booking details with you before confirming in writing. The request form does not take an online payment.

Your price and payment

Give accurate furniture quantities, packing or unpacking details, access information and contact details. The confirmed price covers the agreed work and any selected materials. We agree changes or additional work with you before charging for them. Any deposit arrangements are made clear before confirmation. The remaining agreed balance is payable on completion.

Cancelling or changing a request

You can withdraw an unconfirmed request without charge. For a confirmed booking, contact info@handytackle.co.uk as soon as possible to cancel or change it. A different date depends on availability. If a 20% deposit is agreed, our booking policy refunds it when cancellation notice is received more than 24 hours before the agreed start. At 24 hours or less, any retained amount is limited to reasonable cancellation losses, after taking steps to reduce them, and remains subject to your statutory rights. If we cancel and cannot provide the work, we refund advance payments for the work not supplied.

Your consumer cancellation rights

Where a confirmed service contract is made online, by phone or away from our business premises and statutory cancellation rights apply, you normally have 14 days from making the contract to cancel. Email info@handytackle.co.uk with your name, booking reference and a clear request to cancel. If you want work to begin within that period, we will ask for your express request and explain the effect on cancellation rights. If you then cancel after work has begun, a proportionate charge may apply for work already supplied. The right can end once the service is fully performed only where the required consent and acknowledgement have been given. These terms do not remove your statutory rights.

Preparing for the job

Provide access to the agreed work area, furniture parts and instructions where available. Tell us about existing damage, missing parts, fragile belongings or access restrictions before work starts. We agree any change needed if the job cannot safely proceed as described.

Packing materials and box returns

Selected packing materials are shown separately in the Handy Engine. Where you select the box-return offer, the refund applies to the eligible boxes returned after use: 50% of the price paid for those boxes. Other packing materials are outside that offer. We confirm return arrangements and record returned quantities before processing a refund.

Questions or problems

Contact info@handytackle.co.uk promptly with your booking reference and details of the issue so we can investigate and agree a resolution. Services must be supplied with reasonable care and skill. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restrict your consumer remedies.

Website and Google connection

Use the website to make genuine enquiries and provide details you are entitled to share. The owner Google email connection is used to send booking notifications; customers do not authorise it.
